Nagpur, Ranchi Pune to get blessed with IIITs, MHRD gives Green signal

3 new IIITs

One more step towards making Indian education better! 

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) is well focused and prepared to open 3 more IIIT’s in Ranchi, Nagpur and Pune on public-private partnership (PPP) mode.

To set up these 3 new IIIT’s, MHRD signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with private firms like – Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Motors, M/s ADCC Infocad, Nagpur and M/s Hubtown, Mumbai. The main motive of this collaboration is to bring out high quality IT manpower required for building up IT industry.

These business partners will be participating in developing curriculum which is required by the industry.

1. IIIT Ranchi will operate from the Old Judicial Academy in the Administrative Training Institute, Ranchi admitting 120 students for the year 2016-17 through JEE 2016 examination.

NIT-Jamshedpur will be the mentor institute for IIIT Ranchi.

TCS and Tata Motors are the industry partners for IIIT Ranchi.

2. IIIT-Nagpur has proposed to admit 120 students in CSE and ECE branches for academic session 2016.

The students will be selected through JEE-2016 Examination.

BMIT will be the mentor institution.

The Participation companies of IIIT Nagpur are M/s ADCC Infocad and TCS.

3. IIIT-Pune will temporarily function from Siddhant Engineering College and a permanent campus will be constructed at Chakan for which the state government has identified 100 acres of land.

The industry partners — M/s Hubtown Mumbai and M/S Roltas.

The institute has declared to admit 120 students in 2016 through JEE-2016.
