Common Law Admission Test is an all India level law test. This exam is conducted on rotation by 14 national Law universities (NLUs). This exam is conducted only for students who want to take admission in Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) degree programs that include LL.B and LL.M.

The CLAT 2015 examination is going to be conducted by Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU) and the university has announced that the CLAT exam 2015 will be conducted totally on online mode.

As per the latest news, CLAT 2015 will be held on 10th May 2015. Candidates may apply from 1st Jan 2015 to 31st March 2015.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates appearing for the CLAT exam 2015 must fulfill the eligibility criteria. The details of the eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

For UG Courses

  • The candidates must have passed 12th class or equivalent with 45% (40% for reserved) from a recognized board.
  • The candidates should be below 20 years of age as on 1stJuly 2015.

For PG Courses

  • The candidates must have a LL.B degree or equivalent degree.
  • The candidates must have scored at least 55% aggregate (50% for reserved category) in the LL.B program or any other equivalent.
  • The candidates who have passed the qualifying exam with supplementary or compartment are also eligible, but they have to submit the proof of passing the qualifying examination with 55/50% or as applicable.

Exam Pattern

For UG Courses

The candidates applying for the CLAT exam 2015 must be well known to the exam pattern which is given below-

The total no. of questions – 200

Total time duration – 2 hours

Each question will be carrying one mark.

The questions will be asked from the following areas:

  • Reasoning – 40 Questions
  • Legal Aptitude – 50 Questions
  • English & Comprehension – 40 Questions
  • Elementary Mathematics – 20 Questions
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs – 50 Questions

There will be a negative marking of -0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

For PG Courses

The total no. of questions – 150

Total time duration – 2 hours

Each question will be carrying one mark.

The questions will be asked from the following areas:

  • Constitutional Law – 50 Questions
  • Jurisprudence – 50 Questions
  • Other law subjects – 50 Questions

There will be a negative marking of -0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

How to Apply?

The Candidates will have to apply online through the official website. The online payment can be made through the CLAT website with net banking, debit card or credit card.

Application Fee

General category candidates will have to pay INR 4000/- and application fee for reserved category candidates is INR 3500/-.

Selection Procedure

Candidate’s selection will be made through their score in exam. The online counseling would take place after the declaration of CLAT 2015 result.
