Edgar Lungu was sworn in as Zambia’s sixth president. After being elected as President Edgar said “I am humbled eternally and debated to you all, my fellow citizens”. He continued by saying “The bottom line is that we want the country to go forward and to banish poverty in our midst.”

Mr. Lungu defeated Hakainda Hichilema and took office on 25th January, 2015. He will be in office and lead southern African nation for the remainder term of Sata’s until next a general election scheduled in September 2016.

Edgar Chagwa Lungu was born on 11th Nov, 1956. Lungu is a law student. He is a former defense minister from the Zambia’s ruling Patriotic Front (PF) and was adopted as the member of sata’s party.
