Exam Stress ManagementThe exams might seem like the most crucial thing right now but viewing them in terms of your life they are only a small part and a very small hurdle. Exams are just to assess your preparation. So just relax, it is not the end of the world if you do not fare well in them.

Don’t pressurize yourself by excessively worrying for upcoming exams. Students put themselves under immense burden by apprehending about the consequences of not doing well enough in exams. Not performing well in an exam is the not the end of the world. There are loads of success and happiness which still waits for you in your life. So, stop worrying and start smart preparation for your exam :)

These are some suggestions for students to help them in coping up with the exam stress:

 

  1. Smart Preparation

Lot of students try to mug up and binge the entire text book before an exam. Don’t try to do this at all. This is not the correct strategy to prepare for an exam.

Instead, know all the essential content that you need to study for an exam. Don’t waste your time in preparing irrelevant topics for a particular exam. Effective & efficient way of studying must be the strategy in exam preparation tenure.

Don’t try to memorize the entire textbook, instead try to understand the concepts. If you prepare for the exams properly you should do fine, meaning that there is no need to worry excessively.

 

  1. Be healthy

Eat a nutritious, well-balanced diet – your body (especially your brain) will need those extra vitamins and minerals during the exam preparation tenure. Eat at least two meals each day.

Take proper rest and sleep well enough. This will help you in keeping your mind less burdened Excessive continuous studies may lead to stress. So, keep taking small periods of breaks or snap :) in between your studies.

 

  1. Maintain distance with anxious students

Maintain distance with other people or things that may disturb your self-confidence, focus and level of relaxation. Avoid talking to anxious or talkative students who can turn you nervous. Always have a belief in you. Believe that you have prepared well enough for the exam. This will help you in keeping calm just before examination.

 

  1. Solving Mock Test Papers & Previous Year Question Papers will help you a lot

If you are satisfied with quantity of content you have studied & feel that you have done well enough, then you should try solving some mock test papers and previous year question papers related to the exam.

The more you will solve the paper, the more you will learn about yourself, as it will give you a clear idea about the difficulty level & pattern of the exam, & how to allot minimum time to solve particular type of questions. This will help you know yourself, your capabilities & the field in which you are lagging.

 

  1. Leave plenty of time to revise

Leave plenty of time to revise, it will help you a lot during exam. It will help you in keeping memorized lessons in your mind for a longer period of time. Giving yourself adequate time will help to boost your confidence and reduce any pre-exam stress as you know you have prepared well.
