Ranjan would work closely with Flipkart Commerce Platform (Head) Mukesh Bansal to build on the company’s strong technology expertise and support its commitment to excel as a world-class technology company.
Ranjan spent the last nine years in Google at its Mountainview, California headquarters, where most recently he managed Google’s Android One engineering group.
He has also managed Motorola’s Value Devices engineering group and was Managing Director of Google India for Research and Development, it said.
“Soni and Ranjan have worked closely together for Google and Motorola, including on the launch of Motorola’s Moto G and Moto E devices, which are highly popular in emerging markets like India”, the company said.
“I am delighted Peeyush will be moving from the Bay Area to Bangalore to play this important role in Flipkart’s further development,” said Flipkart CEO & Co-Founder Sachin Bansal.
