There is one more reason to release the answer key prior to the UGC NET Result announcement, i.e. the officials give a chance to the candidates to search any discrepancy in the released answer key and to challenge it within two-three days.

Important Note – NTA has released the Final UGC NET Answer Key on 23rd December 2019.
Candidates of UGC NET got only 3 days to challenge the answer key. It is worthy to check the important steps and challenge the answer key as soon as possible.
Below we have catered all the important steps that will be required to submit your challenges.
Step 1 – Aspirants have to visit the official website to challenge the answer key.
Step 2 – After landing on the NTA UGC NET website, click on the link “View Question Paper and Challenge Provisional Answer Key”.
Step 3 – Now in this step, you will need to get login with the help of your UGC NET registration ID and Password/Date of Birth.
Step 4 – Once you get logged in, click on Challenge/s regarding answer key and submit.
Step 5 – There will be two IDs in sequential order. One for 50 Questions of Paper1 and other is of 100 Question for Paper 2.
Step 6 – As shown in the image below, The ID next to the question ID under the column “Correct Option(s)” is the right answer to the question.
If you want to challenge the answer key released by NTA, then select one of any four checkboxes under the column “ID Options claimed”.
Step 7 – Once you click on all the checkboxes, save your claim for both Papers.
You will also require to upload a valid and enough document of proof regarding the challenge that you have made.
Step 8 – At last, click on “Save Your Claim Finally.” You will get a window displaying your challenge.
Step 9 – Then make payment by clicking on "Click here to Pay Fee".
Important Note –
Before saving the challenges, all claims must be submitted in one go.
All documents required as a proof to challenge should be uploaded in a single pdf file only.
Before moving for the payment step, make sure to save your claims.
1000 INR is the prescribed fee for every response challenged.
You can use a Debit/Credit card/Net Banking to submit the fee. Make sure that you only used the card to which payment can be refunded in.
Payment will be refunded if the challenge is accepted.
There will be some extra service charges that need to be paid by aspirants. Check out the extra charges that you need to pay from below.
For Debit Card – Service tax as applicable and 1.20% of examination fee.
For Credit Card – 0.75% taxes for exam fee up to 2000 INR and 1% taxes for exam fee more than 2000 INR.
After accepting the UGC NET Answer Key challenges of candidates, NTA will review the challenged question against the discrepancies, after that final answer key will be released.
