IIT JAM Eligibility | Are You Eligible?

 

 

IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test) Exam will be conducted on 9th February 2020. To remove your anxiety regarding JAM Exam Eligibility, Eduncle has come with the detailed IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria in this blog.

 

Here, we have mentioned all the requisite conditions on which candidates have to be applicable.

 IIT JAM 2020 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign).

 

 There is no age restriction. i.e. there is no IIT JAM Age Eligibility, regardless of your current age you can apply for JAM.

 

 To apply for admission to a desired program, a candidate is required to qualify in the corresponding Test Paper and also satisfy the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) and Eligibility Requirements (ERs) of the respective Academic Program. IIT JAM Courses and Eligibility is given below in the table.

 

 The candidates who have either appeared or are due to appear in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2020 are also eligible to appear in the test.

 

 By qualifying JAM 2020, candidates can apply for provisional admission subjected to the condition that:

 

(a) All parts of their final examination shall be completed by the date of registration of the Admitting Institute, and

 

(b) Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility, as specified by the Admitting Institute, will be submitted by September 2020. The admission for a few programs at IISc, IITB, and IITK will additionally depend on interviews that will be held during the time window given in the brochure.

 

 The candidates who have obtained B.Sc. degree through Distance Education/Correspondence Mode and are desirous of admission to M.Sc. Mathematics or M.Sc. Physics programmes of IIT Madras will have to appear for an additional interview.

First class marks or min. 55% aggregate marks, without rounding off, in qualifying degree.

 

 

For SC/ST/PwD Candidates:

 

Second class or min. 50% aggregate marks without rounding off, in qualifying degree.

 

 

 

IIT JAM Exam Eligibility Criteria for IIT Guwahati

 

 

For GENERAL & OBC (Non Creamy Layer) Candidates

 

At least (a) 55% marks or 6.0 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, in Major/Honors and Pass in all other subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries or (b) 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined.

 

 

For SC/ST/PwD Candidates

 

At least (a) 50% marks or 5.5 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, in Major/Honors and pass in all other subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, or (b) 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined.

Eligibility Criteria for All Other IITs

Eligibility Criteria for CCMN

 

 

At least 60% aggregate marks are required in the qualifying degree for CCMN Counseling Process. The admission process to NIT and IISER M.Sc. seats is done through Centralized Counseling process.

But make sure you have Mathematics at your 10+2 level. For taking M.Sc. and other programs in Chemistry you need to have Mathematics at 10+2 level, as you are pursuing Graduation in B.Sc.     Hello, Rekhansh! Greetings from Eduncle! To appear for JAM, you need to meet the Eligibility Requirments (ER's) to take Admission to the IISc. and IIT's. JAM serves as the eligibility test to qualify only those eligible and brilliant candidates who want to pursue M.SC. (2 years), Joint M.Sc.-PhD and dual degree M.Sc.- Ph.D., M.SC. - M.Tech.and other Post-bachelor's Degree Programmes fro the IIT's and Integrated PhD Degree Programmes at IISc. JAM is conducted in seven subjects - Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). Accordingly, Rekhansh you can plan for taking this exam for 1 or 2 subjects. These subjects should be there as your main subjects in the Bachelors Degree.
