IIT-Kanpur, in collaboration with Texas A and M University (TAMU, United States) is starting a new educational program called as ‘joint dual degree course’ to benefit the worthwhile students by providing a degree with the logos of both the institutes.
The decision of starting this course was made by Vice chancellor of TAMU, Dr. Margaret Katherine Banks, director of Gradute Programs (TAMU), Dr Vikram Kinra and director, IIT-Kanpur, Professor Indranil Manna during an important meeting.
The candidates aspiring a dual degree course from these two institutes are likely to take admission from next academic session year.
IIT Kanpur has already been conducting a student exchange programs with TAMU for the last three years. Till now four students each from both the institutes used to take benefit of the student exchange program but during the meeting it was proposed to increase this number to 10 (from each institute).
The candidates having good academic performance will be eligible for the selection process of this program.
If they have performed well, they have full opportunity to be chosen for this program.
Advantages of Course
The finalized students will have the benefits of airfare, fooding, lodging and accommodation by the two institutes for the three month tenure of internship.
