Indian Government declared over 200 scholarships to Nepalese students for various courses under a bilateral scheme to boost human resource development in the country on 1st March, 2015.

Nepal’s vice president Parmananda Jha and Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae jointly handed over the certificates to the 13th batch of the Golden Jubilee Scholarship recipients at a function organized here, according to an Indian embassy statement.

The scholarships are provided for a wide spectrum of studies ranging from engineering, medicine, agriculture, pharmacology, veterinary sciences, computer application, business administration, music and fine arts.

The number of students receiving the scholarship has been increased to 200 from 100 since 2012, it said.

The amount of scholarship per student for MBBS and BE has been increased from INR 3,000 to INR 4,000, while for BSc, BBA, BBS and BCOM has been increased to INR 3,000 from INR 2,000.
