Ans. National Function will be presided over by Hon’ble former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

The Chief Guest will give away Awards for the Best Electoral Practices to Chief Electoral Officers and District Election Officers. Awards will also be given to Media Houses and Civil Society Organizations for best campaign in Voters’ Education and Awareness.

Some other Facts –

25th January is also the foundation day of the Commission, which came into being on this day in 1950. The Commission’s objective through NVD is to increase enrolment of voters, especially of the newly eligible ones. The National Voters’ Day is also utilized to spread awareness among voters regarding effective participation in the electoral process.
