The 35th edition of National Games will be held in Kerala and Sachin Tendulkar will lead a mass run titled “Run Kerala Run’.

The event will start on 31st January 2015 in various centres of Kerala.

Sachin Tendulkar is expected to run with Kerala’s Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, his Cabinet colleagues and celebrities from various walks of life, including Arjuna awardees.

Governor P Sadasivam flagged off the “Run Kerala Run” in front of the state secretariat here at 10.30 am. National Games brand Ambassador Sachin Tendulkar and Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy led the leg of the mass run in the heart of the state capital. Theme song of the national games was presented at all points before commencing the run.

The mass run will be held in 10,000 points across Kerala in seven district of Kerala

The mascot of the 35th National Games is”’Ammu”’, The Great Hornbill, the State bird of Kerala. The choice of a feminine name for the Mascot is a tribute to the women of Kerala and is a reminder that Kerala is proud to have a gender ratio which is tilted in favour of women – the only State in India that can claim that honour.

Sachin Tendulkar is also the brand ambassador for the games which Kerala is hosting for the second time after 1987.

 2015 National Games of India is also known as the 35th National Games of India, will be held from 31 January, 2015 to 14 February 2015 across seven districts in Kerala, India.

 It is the second time that Kerala is hosting the national games after it hosted the 27th National Games in 1987.
