Saina & Srikant wins India Open Super Series Badminton Women’s & Men’s Singles titles

Saina-&-SrikantIndian badminton stars, Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth won the women’s and men’s singles titles of the 275000 dollar India Open Super Series badminton tournament.

In the final clash played at the Siri Fort Indoor Complex in New Delhi, Saina won against the former world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand 21-16, 21-14.

Later in the title clash of the men’s section, World Number Four and second seed Srikanth beat sixth seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark 18-21, 21-13, 21-12. It is second Super Series title of his career.

This was their maiden women and men’s singles titles at the India Open Super Series badminton tournament.

Earlier on 28 March 2015, Saina Nehwal became the first woman badminton player from India to be ranked number one in the world. She is the second Indian player to achieve this feat, after Prakash Padukone.
