10 States funded with Rs 460 crore for prompt functioning of ‘Swachh Bharat’ drive

Urban Development Ministry has sanctioned INR 459.93 crore to 10 states as the first installment under Swachh Bharat Mission for the year 2014-15.

The Urban Development Minister, Babul Supriyo said the sanctions of 459.93 crore includes INR 310.10 cr for construction of household and community toilets, INR 48 cr for awareness generation activities and INR 12 cr for capacity building and 1.04 crore household toilets are targeted to be built by 2018 in urban areas.

The 10 states which was selected by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be funded under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan are as follows –

Maharashtra – 135 Cr

Karnataka – 80.01 Cr

West Bengal – 64.01 Cr

Gujarat – 40.95 Cr

Andhra Pradesh – 40 Cr

Bihar – 37.72 Cr

Chattisgarh – 30.79 Cr

Madhya Pradesh – 18.81 Cr

Manipur – 11.21 Cr

Odisha – 1.43 Cr
