Sanjiv Sarin Designated as new MD & CEO of Tata Coffee Limited

Sanjiv SarinThe board of directors of Tata Coffee Ltd. has informed Bombay Stock Exchange that it has approved the appointment of Sanjiv Sarin as the ‘CEO designate’ of the company with effect from January 8, 2015.

The company also said that Vikram Grover will take charge as Deputy Head of Tata Global Beverages’ water business, with immediate effect.

In addition, Grover will also have overall responsibility for Tata Global Beverages’ businesses in Pakistan and Bangladesh, company said in a statement

Tata Coffee said Mr. Sanjiv Sarin will assume charge as Managing Director and CEO of Tata Coffee Ltd. after the retirement of Hameed Huq, the current MD and CEO. Hameed Huq will retire on March 31, 2015 and has been with Tata Coffee for over 15 years and held the position of Managing Director since 2010.

Mr. Sarin is currently the Regional President for South Asia in Tata Global Beverages Ltd, the holding company of Tata Coffee Ltd. During his tenure, he has significantly strengthened Tata Global Beverages’ position in the India branded tea market.

Huq, who retires on March 31, 2015, has been with Tata Coffee for over 15 years and held the position of Managing Director since 2010.

Sarin has held the position of Regional President- South Asia of Tata Global Beverages for the past four years. During his tenure, he has significantly strengthened Tata Global Beverages’ position in the India branded tea market. he has over 38 years of experience in a variety of significant roles.

In another announcement Tata group company, Tata Global Beverages (TGB) appointed Sushant Dash as the Regional President – India effective immediately. He will take over charge from Sanjiv Sarin, and will be based out of Bengaluru.
