What is Zee Jaipur Literature Festival?

The Zee Jaipur Literature festival is the largest free literary festival in the world. It is the most prestigious national and international literature event which encompasses a range of readings, talks, debates, performances, children’s workshops and interactive activities. The festival is free, and open to all.

This year, Zee Jaipur Literature Festival will take place from 21st Jan to 25th Jan at the historic Diggi Palace, Jaipur.

This festival will have a number of themes which will be running through various sessions on these five days. The festival is fully focused on reading, debates and activities related to literature so there will be a strong emphasis on poetry, as well as writing and a particular strand of sessions consist of readings, discussions, question-answers and debates.

What will be there in Festival?

Including Indian authors there will be many authors from abroad also who will be attending this fest as well. The audience can buy the author’s books and get them signed. In addition, there will be a range of stalls selling everything from food to handicrafts and outdoor lounge bar for relaxing.

The most interesting part of the fest will be Music performances are scheduled to be followed by the literary sessions in evening. The Jaipur Literature Festival has turned into quite a fashionable occasion, and attracts plenty of socialites from Delhi and Jaipur.

Famous faces who will be attending the Festival

This festival has its own standard. Some of very prominent names of the literary world are expected to attend this year’s festival. From VS Naipaul to Girish Karnad to Amish Tripathi to Chetan Bhagat to Javed Akhtar – India’s prominent personalities will share the platform with international names like Bettany Hughes, Hakan Nasser, Anne Zaidi and others.

How to be a Part of this Festival?

To be a part of Jaipur Literature, one should go through the registration process. Registration is categorized in different parts.

General Registration – Registration is mandatory and non-transferable, and all patrons are requested to carry photo identification along with proof of registration while partaking in the exciting festivities.

Early Bird Registration – Open till Nov 1, 2014

The Delegate fee is INR 3000 per day per person. If you register for all 5 days, you can avail a special rate of INR 12000 (Taxes extra).

Pre Festival Registration – From 2nd Nov to 20th Jan 2015

INR 3500 per day or INR 14000 for 5 days. (Taxes extra).

On the Spot Registration (During the Fest)

INR 4000 per day or INR 16000 for 5 days (Taxes extra).

(Additional INR 1500 to include the Writers’ Ball dinner)
