The IIT JAM Exam is divided into three sections with three different patterns of questions as follows:
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
Each MCQ-type question has four choices, out of which only one choice is the correct answer.
Multiple Select Questions (MSQ)
Each MSQ question is similar to MCQ but with the difference that there may be one or more choice(s) correct out of the four given choices.
Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions
These types of questions do not have any choice. The answer can be either a numerical value, decimal, or integer value.

List of Admitting Institutes for IIT JAM 2025
There are 20 IITs and an IISc that offer admission to various PG courses (like MSc, Join MSc PhD, MSc PhD Dual Degree, Integrated PhD, etc.) based on the IIT JAM 2024 scores. You can check the list of IIT JAM Participating Institutes here.
