Before stepping towards the idea of appearing in CSIR NET Exam June 2020, make sure that you belong to the Science Background.
If you are a science student and willing to pursue your career further as a Junior Research Fellow or an Assistant Professor, only then you should aim for this exam. Else, you can go for UGC NET Exam 2020.

The Joint CSIR UGC NET Exam is a nationalized exam so it has different educational eligibility criteria for reserved and unreserved category candidates.

CSIR Eligibility - Degrees Required (Any of the mentioned below)
Or an Equivalent Degree.
CSIR Exam Eligibility - Percentage Required
For General and OBC Candidates - 55% Marks
For ST/SC/PWD Candidates - 50% Marks.
Important Notes for CSIR Eligibility:
As per the CSIR NET Eligibility conditions, the candidates who enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination as on the closing date of online submission of Application Form can apply for the exam.
But their results (fulfilling the required percentage criteria) should be declared within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship from the effective date of award of the fellowship.
Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format (Given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of Institute/Dean/Head of Department from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared.
In accordance with CSIR Exam Eligibility Criteria, the candidates with bachelor’s degree will be eligible for CSIR fellowship only after ‘getting registered/enrolled for Ph.D./ Integrated Ph.D. program within the validity period of two years.’
B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates; 50% marks for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates are also eligible to apply.
Candidates who are suffering from disabilities other than OH, VH, HH as mentioned in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016 may also apply under PwD category and will also get the 5 years’ relaxation.
Specification of degrees (whether Bachelor’s or Master’s) as notified by UGC in its Gazette Notification No. F. 5-1/2013 (CPP-II) dated 5th July, 2014 and as amended from time to time, shall apply.
After form submission, they have to inform their application number to CSIR-HRDG through email to email@example.com.
Aspirants who already filled the CSIR NET 2020 Application Form for the exam may also inform their application number through email to CSIR-HRDG.
CSIR NET Eligibility - Educational Qualification Criteria for Lecturer-ship:
The CSIR Exam eligibility for lectureship of NET qualified candidates will be subject to fulfilling the criteria laid down by UGC.
PhD degree holders who have passed Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991, with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for Lectureship only.
The CSIR Eligibility Criteria for age limit is different in the case of JRF and Assistant Professor. Below you can check the clear distinction for both.
1. CSIR JRF Eligibility Criteria
Maximum Age - 28 years as on 1st July 2019.
Age Relaxation – Up to 5 Years for SC/ST/OBC//female applicants. In case of OBC (non-creamy layer) provided age relaxation is 3 years.
2. CSIR NET Eligibility Criteria for Lecturership
There’s no upper age limit in this case. Candidates from any age group can apply for lecturership.
1. CSIR NET Eligibility for Life Science
As per CSIR NET Eligibility for Life Science, the candidates are required to have any of the above-mentioned degrees in Life Science only.
2. CSIR NET Chemical Science Eligibility
As per CSIR Eligibility, the candidates must have valid M.Sc./BS/B-Tech or equivalent qualification in Chemistry with required percentage criteria mentioned above.
3. CSIR NET Earth Science Eligibility
The CSIR Exam Eligibility guidelines for Earth Science tells that the candidates must have completed M.Sc./BS-MS/BS-4 Years/B-Pharma or any equivalent degree in the field of Earth Science within the required qualifying criteria.
4. CSIR NET Mathematics Eligibility Criteria
The CSIR NET aspirants are required to have a valid degree in M.Sc./BS-MS/BS/B-Tech or any equivalent study for Mathematics to fulfill the CSIR Eligibility conditions for Maths.
5. CSIR NET Eligibility for Physical Science
In accordance with CSIR NET Eligibility for Physical Science, the candidates are required to have a valid degree of M.Sc. Physics or BS-MS in Physics or any related degree passed within the required percentage.
