These are weather systems with high barometric pressure at its centre, around which air slowly circulates in a clockwise (northern hemisphere) or anticlockwise (southern hemisphere) direction. Anticyclones are associated with calm, fine weather.Atmospheric Science Atmosphere

It is an umbrella term for the study of the Earth's atmosphere, its processes, the effects other systems have on the atmosphere, and the effects of the atmosphere on these other systems.

Statistics of weather, usually over a 30-year interval. It is measured by assessing the patterns of variation in temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, precipitation, atmospheric particle count and other meteorological variables in each region over long periods of time.

An aerosol comprising a visible mass of minute liquid droplets or frozen crystals, both of which are made of water or various chemicals.

A large-scale air mass that rotates around a strong center of low atmospheric pressure. They are usually characterized by inward spiraling winds that rotate. All large-scale cyclones are centered on low-pressure areas.

The perceptible shaking of the surface of the Earth, resulting from the sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves.

Earth S Interior

It is made up of a series of layers that sit below the surface crust. In order of depth, these layers include the solid, but flowing mantle, the liquid outer core, and the solid iron outer core, which helps create Earth's protective magnetic field.

Experiments in Space

12 Big Experiments Done on the International Space Station that are: Headless Flatworms, Space Mice, Talking Zucchini, Putting Out the Fire, Iss-Robot, Night Lights—Lots of Them, Channeling Captain Kirk, The Force Is Strong Here, Squids in Space, My Microbes Grow Better Than Your Microbes, Sloshing Around The Station and Ant Farm.

Himalayan Region

is a range that spans ten states of India namely, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh as well as the hill regions of two states - Assam and West Bengal. The region is responsible for providing water to a large part of the Indian subcontinent and contains varied flora and fauna.

Flowing into the Bay of Bengal: Brahmaputra, Kaveri, Ganga (with its main tributaries Ramganga, Kali or Sharda, Gomti, Yamuna, Chambal, Betwa, Ken, Tons, Ghaghara, Gandaki, Burhi Gandak, Koshi, Mahananda, Tamsa, Son, Bagmati), Meghna, Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna (and their main tributaries).

Flowing into the Arabian Sea: Narmada, Tapi, Sabarmati.

Measurement of the Earth

The circumference of Earth at the equator is about 24,874 miles (40,030 km), but from pole-to-pole — the meridional circumference — Earth is only 24,860 miles (40,008 km) around. This shape, caused by the flattening at the poles, is called an oblate spheroid.

Motions of the Earth

Earth spins around its axis, just as a top spin around its spindle. This spinning movement is called Earth's rotation. While the Earth spins on its axis, it also orbits or revolves around the Sun. This movement is called the revolution.

Mountain Building

These processes are associated with large-scale movements of the Earth's crust (plate tectonics). Folding, faulting, volcanic activity, igneous intrusion, and metamorphism.

The wet, or rainy, the season is the time of year, covering one or more months, when most of the average annual rainfall in a region falls.

Types of Rocks

The three main types, or classes, of rock, are sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous and the differences among them must do with how they are formed.

These are ruptures in the crust of a planetary-mass object, such as Earth, that allows hot lava, volcanic ash, and gases to escape from a magma chamber below the surface.
