GATE 2020 Notification & Important Dates

 

To appear for GATE 2020 and to crack it successfully candidates must have the complete schedule. The Candidate must be aware of the calendar of GATE Important Dates.

As per the available information GATE 2020 Exam will be conducted on 1st, 2nd, 8th & 9th February 2020.

GATE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

 

Before applying for GATE 2020 candidate must ensure the eligibility criteria. An aspiring candidate has to fulfill all the eligibility criteria to get registered for the exam.

Candidates must check out the below points for GATE 2020 eligibility.

GATE Age Limit- There is no cap of age limit for GATE 2020.

GATE 2020 Qualification- The candidate should have cleared BE/B.Tech, M.Sc from a state /Central government recognized institution.

GATE 2020 Required Percentile in Academics- To apply for Gate 2020 candidate should have qualified Bachelor’s or equivalent examination with at least 45% aggregate marks.

Candidates who are pursuing their final year of Bachelor’s or equivalent exam are eligible to apply for the exam.

GATE Application Form 2020

 

The registration procedure is the first step for GATE 2020. GATE Application Forms 2020 has been released by IIT Delhi on 3rd September 2019.

Candidates can now fill up the form online on the official website of GATE till 28th September 2019 (Extended). But first meet the eligibility criteria and then apply for the examination.

Candidates will be required the scanned copies of essential documents. Along with these, candidates have to fill in the credentials to apply for GATE 2020 exam. After making the payment a preview will be shown to the candidate before the final submission of GATE Application form.

A candidate must be aware of the exam pattern to have the fundamental idea of GATE 2020 examination. GATE Exam pattern helps the candidate to prepare for the exam accordingly.

For 1-mark MCQs question there is 1/3 negative marking.

For 2-mark MCQs question there is 2/3 negative marking.

GATE Admit Card

 

From 3rd Jan 2020 onwards, candidates can download the GATE Admit Card 2020. It will be released by IIT Delhi in online mode. GATE Admit Card is an essential document to appear for the exam. While downloading the admit card, candidate must ensure that the details mentioned on the admit card are correct and in case of any discrepancy, candidates can contact to the GATE authorities.

Along with the admit card student should carry the original photo id and its xerox copy.

 

 

GATE Answer Key

 

GATE official answer key will be released on the official website for all 25 subjects of GATE by the conducting body. Candidate can easily login using the credentials and download the answer key. Answer key gets the idea of cut off and chances of the candidate to get selected in the examination.

However, the candidate may challenge the answer key if he or she is not satisfied with the official answer key. A certain amount of 500 INR is charged for each question challenged.

GATE Result & Cut-off

 

GATE 2020 result will be declared by conducting authority IIT Delhi in the month of March 2020. Candidates can easily download the result from the official website once declared.

After the result declaration GATE 2020 cut off will be released on the basis of Number of aspirants appeared for the exam, number of available seats & GATE paper difficulty level.

GATE Counselling 2020

 

GATE counselling 2020 is expected to take place in April 2020. Only GATE 2020 qualifying candidates will be able to be the part of this process.

Exam authority releases GATE scorecard after GATE results. Candidates will be issued the GATE call letter for counselling.

Candidates are advised to keep their essential documents ready with them as they will require it for counselling process.

All the National Institute of Technology (NITs), IIEST Shibpur, 8 IIITS, National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) Ranchi, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Vijayawada, University of Hyderabad, Central University of Rajasthan, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) Longowal, Punjab Engineering College (PEC) Chandigarh and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra accept GATE score.

Candidates can apply through CCMT 2020 Counselling to get admission. For a basic idea of expenditure, candidates can check the tentative fee details of participating institutes.
