NTA NET Exam 2021 Notification


NTA has released the important dates for the May 2021 exam. So, if you are preparing for the upcoming NET Exam, then check the tentative dates below.

According to the update, NTA is going to postpone the UGC-NET Dec 2020 cycle (May 2021) exams which were going to take place from 2nd May'21 earlier. This step is being taken for the safety & well-being of candidates and exam functionaries during the Covid19 pandemic.

NTA has extended the date of the UGC NET Application form from 2nd March 2021 to 9th March 2021. Candidates who have missed the opportunity to fill the form, have a chance to apply for the December 2020 session.

NTA will conduct the UGC National Eligibility Test 2021 for Dec 2020 session from 2nd May to 17th May 2021.

UGC NET Application Forms have been released on the official e-portal on 2nd Feb 2021.

Last date to apply for UGC NET 2021 (December 2020 Session) is 2nd March 2021.

UGC NET Correction Form 2021 window is now open (till 15th March 2021).

NTA NET 2021 May Eligibility Criteria (Dec Session)


The conducting authority of the exam sets some guidelines to appear in the exam known as eligibility criteria. It is crucial to satisfy these criteria to apply for the exam.  

The eligibility for the NTA NET Exam 2021 (Session Dec 2020) has been decided based on two major factors i.e. education qualification and age limit.



UGC NET Exam 2021 Education Qualification –


If you have completed post-graduation or have enrolled for the masters, then you can apply for this exam.

Candidates require 55% marks in their master’s degree for general/EWS category and 50% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD/ Transgender.

PhD degree holders can also apply for the UGC NET May 2021.



NTA NET May 2021 Age Limit –


There is no age restriction to appear for the UGC NET May 2021 Assistant Professor post.

If you want to apply for JRF then your age should be 31 years or less.

NTA NET Certificate


Conducting the National Eligibility Test and providing the award of certificates and JRF to the qualified candidates is the responsibility of NTA since December 2019 (previously the University Grants Commission was responsible for releasing the Certificate).

The certificates will be issued for those candidates who qualify for the NTA NET 2021 Exam. The validity of the JRF certificate award is 3 years from the date of issue while for lectureship, it is valid for a lifetime.

National Testing Agency takes 10 to 20 days to issue the certificates after the result declaration. With the certificate, you will get many benefits such as: -
