NTA UGC NET Exam is a national-level exam conducted to find aspirants who are eligible for the post of Assistant Professor or JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) & Assistant Professor both.

What is the UGC NET 2024 Eligibility Criteria for December Session?
The conducting authority of the exam sets some guidelines to appear in the exam known as Eligibility criteria. It is crucial to satisfy these criteria to apply for the exam.
The eligibility for the NTA NET Exam 2024 has been decided based on two major factors i.e., education qualification and age limit.
Education Qualification:-
If you have completed post-graduation or have enrolled for the master's, you can apply for this exam.
Candidates require 55% percent marks in their Master’s Degree for the General/EWS category and 50% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD/ Transgender.
Candidates require 75% percent marks in their 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree program.
PhD degree holders can also apply for the UGC NET 2024.
Age Limit Criteria:-
There is no age restriction to appear for the UGC NET Assistant Professor post.
If you want to apply for JRF, your maximum age should be 30 years.

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2024
The Paper Pattern of NTA NET December 2024 gives you knowledge about the exam and an understanding of its methodology and marking scheme.

NTA UGC NET E - Certificate
Conducting the National Eligibility Test and providing the award of certificates and JRF to the qualified candidates is the responsibility of NTA (previously, the University Grants Commission was responsible for releasing the certificate).
The certificates will be issued for those candidates who will qualify for the NTA NET Exam. The validity of the JRF certificate award is three years from the date of issue. At the same time, it is valid for a lifetime for a lectureship.
