After being delayed many times, the NTA UGC NET Exam for Phase 1 has been finally conducted from 20th November to 05th December 2021 through online mode (CBT).
Due to cyclone “Jawad”, the phase 1 exam for some subjects has been reschedule from 24th December to 30th December 2021. The Phase 2 NET Exam will be conducted from 24th December to 30th December 2021.
The Test consisted of 2 papers.
Both papers had objective-type questions.
Both the papers (Paper-I & II) were conducted in a single 3 hours duration (without any break).
The questions in Hindi & English except for other language subjects.
It was necessary to carry the admit card along with two photographs
Each question carried 2 marks.
There was no negative marking for wrong/unanswered questions.
All the questions were compulsory.
Due to COVID-19, face masks, social distancing were compulsory for all the aspirants. Also, hand sanitizer in a transparent bottle was allowed in the exam hall.
Candidates were allowed to leave the examination hall/room only after the test was over.
In 2021, General Paper 1 was moderate as compared to the last year.
Although the questions were tricky and lengthy, if you had your basics clear, you could get good marks in the exam.
Here are some of the major highlights of the NTA NET 2021 Exam:
As per the students' review, the overall difficulty of the UGC NET General Paper 1 was Moderate.
Almost 55% of the questions were based on theory, while 45% were Numerical type.
Some questions were pretty time-consuming and created a cognitive load on the student's brain to understand every term.
