Joint Admission Test is a gateway for your dreams to pursue MSc from IITs, IISc, NITs, etc. To apply for the exam, one must ensure the minimum required criteria set by IIT Delhi as the first stage to filter out the suitable candidates.
The IIT JAM Eligibility criteria 2025 (Joint Admission Test for MSc ) have been published on the official website of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
As per the officials, a candidate will be eligible to appear in the IIT JAM Exam if they fulfil the required educational qualification. There are no age limit criteria to apply for the exam.

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria 2025: Who Can Give IIT JAM Exam?
It is recommended to check the jam exam eligibility criteria before filling out the form. Following are the general requirements that students need to fulfill.
Nationality – Indian/Foreign
Bachelor’s degree in Science.
Either appearing or appearing for the final examination of a qualifying degree.
If the candidate has qualified for the 2025 JAM exam, they can apply for provisional admission subject to the following conditions:
All parts of their final examination shall be completed by September of the IIT JAM Admitting Institute, and
Candidates will have to submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form.
Candidate must fulfill the required eligibility criteria for the IIT JAM exam, guided as per admitting institute.
Note: At the time of admission, candidates will have to give a Physical Fitness Test constituted by the Medical Board by the Admitting Institute. If the admitted candidates are not found physically fit, their admission will be canceled.
IIT JAM 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Admissions in IISc and IITs
IIT JAM conducting body decides minimum percentage criteria of the qualifying degree to get admission in all participating IITs. Below, you can check the latest eligibility criteria for all categories: -
You will require a qualifying degree to appear in the 2025 Exam.
If a candidate is promoted without marksheet; In that case, the promotion certificate or a document accompanying the promotion certificate duly signed by the Head of the Institute must mention the subjects taken in that semester/year to evaluate the MEQ requirements for admission to a specific program.
IIT JAM Previous Eligibility Criteria
In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding-off should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL) category candidates and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates.
The aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI should be first-class marks or min. 55% aggregate marks or 5.5 out of 10, without rounding off for GENERAL & OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates in the qualifying degree.
Second class or min. 50% aggregate marks or 5.0 out of 10 without rounding off for SC/ST/PwD Candidates, in qualifying degree.

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria- CCMN Counselling
Candidates can also get admission in NITs after qualifying the JAM Exam. But, they must satisfy the CCMN Eligibility Criteria for admission in the admitting Institutes.
Candidates must have at least 60% aggregate marks (Gen/EWS/OBC) or 55% aggregate marks (SC, ST, PwD) in the qualifying degree for CCMN Counseling Process.
