    Hello sir!
I am extremely determined to crack the exam this year .However my result in the finals was dismal and I couldn’t meet the eligibility criteria as because I had put excessive weightage to JAM and neglected my honours.Despite taking full preparation my ranking was not good and affected my performance. So I have decided to reappear as that would give me two more shots at the exam too.
Please advice as to how to go about the preparation, keeping both my honours and entrance results intact.

But make sure you clear all the previous backlogs until the final admission process of JAM 2017 and produce all the relevant documents at the time of documents verification process proving your eligibility.

      Hello,

If you are in the final year of your Graduation, you can apply for IIT JAM 2017. All the courses apart from this one – Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. in

  105. Kynjohbor lyngkhoi

    Hello sir…
Once again i just want to make sure before i’ll proceed applying for iit JAM 2017 as you’ve replied my comment,… sir why i can apply as i failed maths?…please let me know sir.

    • Eduncle Team

      Hello,

      Greetings from Eduncle!

As, Mathematics was one of the subjects you had in 12th standard and you have failed to clear it in the first attempt, but could have cleared it in the Supplementary and or Compartments exams. And, as the course details which I shared earlier doesn’t require you to have Mathematics in 10+2 level. The rest of the courses – M.Sc. Chemistry, Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. in Chemistry, and M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering; require Mathematics as an essential subject at 10+2.

Hope your query is dealt with a satisfactory answer!

      Kind Regards,
      Eduncle Team

sir, I AM DOING BSC FROM IGNOU(PHYSICS)…I WILL APPEAR OUR UNIVERSITY FINAL YEAR EXAM 2017 JUNE AND COMPLETE RESULT WILL PUBLISH 30 AUGUST(PROBABLY)…I WILL APPEAR JAM IIT 2017. MY QUESTION IS THAT… MAY I FACE ANY PROBEM FOR ADMISSION IN IIT IF I DO GOOD RANK JAM IIT EXAM 2017???????

    • Eduncle Team

      Hello Nilmani,

      Greetings from Eduncle!

Seeing the past year trends the new batches mostly start around the September month at most of the IITs. Securing good ranks and being in the merit list and achieving the relevant cut-offs alone won’t be the deciding factor for securing a place at the IIT’s or IISc. An aspirant has to prove his eligibility to take the course with all the relevant documents (mark sheets, degree certificates etc.) and meet the eligibility criteria set up by the respective IIT. The JAM governing/conducting body has no control over the dealing.

Good Luck for your future learning endeavours!

      Kind Regards,
      Eduncle Team

      HellO Atul,

      Greetings from Eduncle!

      To appear for JAM 2017 you need to firstly clear all your backlogs and attain all the related certificates which prove your eligibility for the same. Secondly, rounding off can be understood from this clause stated in the JAM brochure;
At least 55% aggregate marks, without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined) for
General/OBC-NCL Category Candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including Languages and
Subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC/ST and PwD Category Candidates in the qualifying degree.

      Hope this helps!

      Hello Shubham,

      Greetings from Eduncle!

Thanks for sharing your query with us!

Shubham if you need to take IIT JAM with Chemistry Subject, you need to compulsorily have Mathematics in 10+2. For any of the following 3 programs you need to have Mathematics in your 10+2 standard, be it M.Sc. Chemistry or Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. in Chemistry or M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering.

But if you wish to take Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. in Atmosphere and Ocean Sciences, you have no compulsion of having Mathematics in 10+2. This program is offered by IIT Bhubaneswar.
