NIT MSc Admission Eligibility Criteria 2020 for IIT JAM Aspirants

NIT MSc Admission

National Institute of Technology (NITs) is always the second choice for students who want to get admission for MSc after JAM 2020. There are many courses provided by NITs for MSc in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and these NITs have lenient admission eligibility criteria than IITs. So, students from BTech, BSc general, and Hons. are eligible for MSc Admissions.

Candidates who have missed the seat at IITs can apply for top NITs for MSc after satisfying the NITs Admission Eligibility Criteria.

Note- According to the latest update, CCMN has declared the 3rd Round Seat Allotment Result and Cutoff Marks on 10th Aug 2020.

The selected students can check their result by entering JAM registration ID-password and check cut-off marks for NIT MSc admissions through official website.

NITs Admission Eligibility Criteria for IIT JAM

 

Every year, CCMN releases the NITs Admission Eligibility Criteria for IIT JAM Qualified students. According to 2020 criterion, total 1849 seats are available in 21 institutes (19 NITs and 2 CFTI) for MSc.

Note - As per the latest notification of CCMN, to get the admission in NITs after IIT JAM, the last date of exam completion can be mentioned as 15th August 2020 and the result publication date can be mentioned as 30th September 2020 in graduation degree.

CCMN Queries Asked by Candidates

 

Q.1) If I haven’t qualified with a valid JAM score OR I didn’t appear for JAM Exam, Can I apply?

Ans.) Without qualifying the JAM Exam, candidates can’t apply for CCMN Counselling to get the admission in NITs for MSc courses.

 

Q.2) My AIR is XXXXXX. Which seat will I get?

Ans.) CCMN Seat allocation is based on the valid JAM Score and the minimum eligibility requirement. Every NIT has a different CCMN opening and closing rank that may vary every year. So, candidates should wait for CCMN Counselling to know about their seat allotment.
