To appear for the CSIR NET Life Sciences exam in 2026, candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements. Below is a detailed explanation of these criteria:
Education Qualification –
Candidates must have an M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or related disciplines with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates)
Final year M.Sc. students can also apply (admission provisional until degree completion)
Age Limit –
JRF (Junior Research Fellowship): Maximum 30 years, Relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/Third gender/ PwD/female applicants, and 3 years' relaxation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer).
For Lectureship/Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.
