    eduncle-logo-app

and it's semi infinite bcoz we took limits of L form o to L not -L to +L

    eduncle-logo-app

    see this carefully

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes mam, i got it

    eduncle-logo-app

they were given a negetive sign. is it wrong right??

    eduncle-logo-app

    i marked it

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes

    eduncle-logo-app

there is no negative sign and one more why we use cylinder is here ..... it's just bcoz wire has cylindrical form

    eduncle-logo-app

mam, but now chandradhawan sir sent me a solution

    eduncle-logo-app

    it includes negetive sign

    eduncle-logo-app

    let me check

    eduncle-logo-app

see that solution carefully thats rod not wire

sir, this is the solution for semiinfinite wire

    eduncle-logo-app

here option given to be B

    eduncle-logo-app

Question asked us to find field in x-y plane due to semi infinite wire, i found resultant E.F , you can neglect E.f in z direction and consider component only in x-y or r direction, because z doesn't lie in x-y plane. in that case D will be correct option.

    eduncle-logo-app

let's talk about why b can't be an option , according to b e.f will be in positive z Direction where it is already given wire lie along positive z axis upto infinity, so E.F along any point on z can only be in negative Direction not positive.
