    Any doubt shweta?

Shweta simply you can understand this...for considering both ionisation energy and electron affinity ...the force of attraction between nucleus and outermost electrons comes into play... and you know force of attraction is inversely proportional to size...so in period from left to right size decreases so force of attraction increases means more affection of electrons means more electrons affinity.

The answer is electron-electron repulsion due to smaller atomic size. Explanation- Oxygen being smaller in size than sulfur, has its valence shell electrons placed more closely than sulfur. Due to this electrons repel each other greatly. As an external electron is introduced, energy is released (which is called electron affinity) but at the same time, some of the energy is consumed due to the instability caused by electron-electron repulsion. So the overall electron affinity of the oxygen comes out to be lesser than that of sulfur.

ye Dekho baaki sb main pehle dono elemants main thoda trend different hai but group 16 main oxygen ki electron affinity sbse km hai

generally 3rd period ki IP 2nd period se jada hoti he but 16 group exception he. . O ki EA lowest hogi. because O ka size small hota he to valence electrons upcoming election k sath repulsion jada krega so least EA
