[14 ] annulene is aromatic or not?

[14 ] annulene is aromatic or not? I have seen many books most of them said it to be non aromatic due to some non planarity occurs or vanderwaal forces between inner hydrogen atoms also., to remove it bridge and removal of hydrogen take place and it become aromatic as in question 14 but there is it shows non aromatic due to non planarity but some books reveals that this non planrity does not take part in de localisation so it's aromatic. please cleared it ?

    yes, it is Aromatic Cyclotetradecaheptaene, often referred to as [14]annulene, is a hydrocarbon with molecular formula C14H14, which played an important role in the development of criteria (Hückel's rule) for aromaticity, a stabilizing property of central importance in physical organic chemistry. It forms dark-red needle-like crystals.

    and in q. 14 that is non aromatic due to non planerity ?

    yes because here two bridges are present which make it non planar

    we know that if molecule possesses sp3 carbon then molecule become non aromatic due to non planarity of sp3 carbon

    but still you will see some exceptions also because aromaticity is experimental features such as homo aromatic compound has sp3 carbon but is aromatic 🙂
