    Since the first order perturbation in the ground state of hydrogen atom will be zero for linear perturbation. I clear u why this is linear since this is electric field in z direction therefore the the perturbation will be Eo rCos theta because z=rCos theta. The second order perturbation will exist in the ground state of hydrogen atom. therefore in second order perturbation energy constant term Eo will be squared Hence value of n will be 2.
