A suite of igneous rocks is formed by differentiation of a parental basic magma containing 50 weight % SiO2 and 6 weight % MgO along with other components. Draw a schematic graph to show the variation of MgO with SiO, in these rocks. A heating experiment is conducted under isobaric condition in a rock containing eutectic proportions of anorthite and diopside. Draw a schematic T (temperature) - X (composition) diagram and show the following: ) beginning of melting; (11) end of melting; (ii) path of evolution of melt with further heating.
