Reason (R): It is the formative assessment used primarily to compare students and report progress. Both (A) and (R) are correct, and (R) is the correct explanation of (A). Both (A) and (R) are correct, but (R) O is not the correct explanation of (A). O (A) is correct, but (R) is wrong. O (A) is wrong, and (R) is correct.

    A is correct but R is wrong, because formative assessment learning is ongoing assessment e.g includes quizzes, mock etc. that is why option first is correct. but if you would see option second so it's normative assessment , not formative because here we are comparing the students progress with other student.
