    page. S/Z, published in 1970, is a work by Barthes where he analyzes Balzac's story Sarrasine according to different codes of interpretation - cultural and narrative being the most significant among them. As he is applying codes of interpretation therefore it is usually considered to be a structuralist text, though moving towards post struxturalism. it is one of the most significant wriitng which shows Barthes development from structuralism to post struxturalism.
