    (a)    A standardized test is any form of test that (1) requires all test takers to answer the same questions, or a selection of questions from common bank of questions, in the same way, and that (2) is scored in a "standard" or consistent manner, which makes it possible to compare the relative performance of individual students or groups of students and it is developed by experts, administered and scored by using an objective procedure.
    (b)    A norm-referenced test (NRT) is a type of test, assessment, or evaluation which yields an estimate of the position of the tested individual in a predefined population, with respect to the trait being measured.
    (c)    A diagnostic procedure is an examination to identify an individual's specific areas of weakness and strength in order determine a condition, disease or illness.
    (d)    A criterion-referenced test is designed to measure a student's academic performance against some standard or criteria. This standard or criteria is predetermined before students begin the test.
