Could anybody explain this linear algebra question. source arihant

a ab ac Consider the matrix M = | ab b bc , where a, E ac bc c and c are non-zero real numbers. Then, the matrix has (a) three non-zero real eigen values (b) complex eigen values (C) two non-zero eigen values (d) only one non-zero eigen value

    See attachment below. . Option D is correct and we got all Eigen values are real and one Eigen value is non zero . and we know every real numbers is also a complex numbers being a subset of complex numbers. So option B also should be true. hence option B and D are true.
