Orientalist gave respect to the cultures of India and the West. They thought that in order to know about the cultures, one must go through the teachings and histories, one must go through the sacred and legal texts that were prevalent in the ancient times. The Anglicist, on the other hand, focused mainly on the western education to gain knowledge about the Western science and technology by European languages.
