The relationship between an invertebrate and another organism (the host), one of which lives at the expense of the other. An immune response to parasites, specifically worms, triggers an IgE response. IgE elicits an immune response by binding to Fc receptors on mast cells, eosinophils, and basophils, causing degranulation and cytokine release. In atopic individuals, IgE is also made to allergens. IgE is at low levels in the blood.EFFECT OF IMMUNITY: The host produces one or more substances known as. antibodies that are chemically antagonistic to the parasite or its products. These antibodies may stunt the growth of the parasite or kill it or prevent its attachment to the host tissues or they may precipitate or neutralize parasitic products.
