Supposing the researcher computes a value of ‘t’ for testing the significance of the difference between mean achievement of the two groups and finds that it is statistically significant. The researcher rejects The Null hypothesis and retains the research hypothesis. A sample result is called statistically significant when the t-value for a test statistic is less than level of significance, which for this class we will keep at 0.05. In other words, the result is statistically significant when we reject a null hypothesis.
