Study microeconomics from Robert Pyndick, Macroeconomics from Mankiew, Latest economic survey, The hindu newspaper - only business and economy column. In microeconomics especially- Cost structure is important, market structure is important.

The UGC NET English Syllabus is huge. So, it is very important to have a strategy to prioritize different segments of the units/chapters. I have mentioned some important topics from the UGC NET Syllabus.  Chaucer to Shakespeare  Romantic Period  Victorian Period  Modern Period  Contemporary Period  History of English Language  English Language Teaching  Indian Writing in English  Indian Literature in English Translation  Contemporary British literature  Modern British Literature  American and other non-British English Literature  Contemporary Theory  Literary Theory and Criticism . 1. Make yourself aware of the pattern as well as the mode of examination. 2. Go through the entire syllabus thoroughly. Know what needs to be left out. This is important because when it comes to qualifying an exam, you ought to know what not to study and focus more on what needs to be studied. 3. Practice previous years question papers. This would give you an idea not only about the types of questions asked but also about the scope of the study and the types of questions UGC tends to ask. 4. Depending upon your interest and retaining skill, allocate time that needs to be devoted for every topic. 5. Figure out the best resources (books and online materials) to refer to. 6. Prepare short and crisp notes of all topic covering important points. For English, you could create flow charts under each unit and list down the literary ERAs => the political, social, and religious set up of the time => important authors => their works => the content of the work. 7. Revise every topic that you have studied. The revision should not just be done only after completing a particular topic, but it should be timed at regular intervals throughout the course of your preparation. 8. Attempt mock tests to analyse your performance and acknowledge your limitations. Given that the mode of examination has changed to online, attempt online mock tests. 9. Prepare smart strategies to attempt quetions. For instance, the procss of elimination works very well in attempting a lot of questions in English (for instance, in questions like matching the columns or multiple combination options). 10. Last, but not the least, do not ignore your Paper 1, as it is the cumulative score that would let you ace the exam.
