    The Canterbury Tales of 1386 is a verse collection of stories told by thirty one pilgrims who are resting in a tavern on their way to the shrine of Saint Thomas Becket. The Knight's Tale is the first tale in the collection of 24 stories in the Canterbury Tales. The Parson's Tale is the last tale (24th tale) in the collection.
