i suggest you that QM is most important so you have to study it if you want to go further in Physics, atleast you have to go through the basic of qm.. In qm, operators, commutation algebra, angular momentum, potentials, h-atom, these are important... you can start with basic book, you will definitely got interest in it... best regards..

In my opinion, without studying QM, it is difficult to score good marks in CSIR NET exam. I would recommend you to start with very basics of QM. Don't start with standard books like Griffith, R. Shankar, JJ Sakurai or Zettili. start with simple books which have basics fir QM. You will automatically get more and more intereste in it. Start with Beiser. read only those topics which interests you. Nobody can ever get everything of QM just in a month or else. it takes time. every fantastic thing takes time to understand. Read Beiser for basics of modern physics then follow any of the standard books.
