    dewar dont show resonance....

    eduncle-logo-app

    can you explain

    eduncle-logo-app

kekule has pure conjugated structure....with 6 pi electrons so resonance is possible....bt dewar ha 4 pi electron in its structure one pi bond is break and one bond is formed in dewar benzene

    eduncle-logo-app

one bond which is formed is sigma bond

yes Kekule in 1865 proposed a ring structure for benzene in which the position of the three double bonds are not fixed. He suggested that the double bond keep on changing their positions and this is called resonance. According to Kekule, benzene is a resonance hybrid of two structures (a) and (b) and the hybrid structure may be represented as (c). The (a) and (b) are called resonating structures and are represented by putting  double headed arrow between them.

then number of pi bonds in dewar structure

it is clearly shows in the structure it's 2 pi bonds but degree of unsaturation will be same in all the structure i.e., 4
