Let r be a ring with unity and m be an r-module. let i be an ideal of r. can m be r/i module also?

Let R be a ring with unity and M be an R-module. Let I be an ideal of R. Can M be R/I module also?

    M can be R/I module also, but only if the module M is anhilated by the ideal I. We say that the ideal I anhilates M iff am =0, for all a in I and for all m in M
