Linear algebra- in the below property why didn't we consider scalar mult and in the example problem how did we choose the field as set of real numbers?

    It should be V(F) there instead of V(R) & yes scalar multiplication should also be considered. Although, it is very clear that scalar multiplication won't violate the law here.
