It has weak spin–orbit coupling. so intersystem crossing is inhibited which favours the energy tranfer from the excited singlet state.

    can you please explain how?

nivedha in chlorphyll energy is transferred from singlet ground state to singlet excited state...Due to weak spin orbit coupling of Mg2+ it inhibits inter system crossing ..so it favours the excitation to singlet excitation state

Due to inhibition of inter system crossing....excitation is favourable from singlet GS to singlet ES
