A factorial ANOVA is an Analysis of Variance test with more than one independent variable, or “factor“. It can also refer to more than one Level of Independent Variable. For example, an experiment with a treatment group and a control group has one factor (the treatment) but two levels (the treatment and the control).

ANOVA-Analysis of variance is used for: 1) analysing more than 2 sample means. 2) to compare variance of two different sets. -one way anova consists of 1 independent variable with 2 levels. -two way anova consists of 2 independent variables with multiple levels. -Assumptions: 1) normally distributed population. 2) random samples from population 3) equal population variances. 4) randomized design is analysed by one way ANOVA. 5)factorial designs by two way ANOVA 6) F value is a ratio of treatment variance to error variance. Here F test is used in anova, where F=variance between treatments÷variance within treatments.
