Read the following poem and answer the questions :
                                HOME IS SO SAD

Home is so sad. It stays as it was left, Shaped to the comfort of the last to go As if to win them back. Instead, bereft of anyone to please, it withers so, Having no heart to put aside the theft.
And turn again to what is started as, A joyous shot at how things ought to be, Long fallen wide. You can see how it was : Look at the pictures and the cutlery. The music in the piano stool. That Vase.
There ia a 'thief in the poem. Who is that thief?

The extract is a poem entitled Home is So Sad composed by Philip Larkin. Larkin is describing a "Home" which has come alive through anthropomorphism  and is "bereft" at having no people currently living within it. It is people that make a house a home and "Home" suggest a sense of belonging. The thief in the poem is about the resident who has left the home to be alone and unoccupied.
