The Hamiltonian for a system of two particles of masses m, and m, at r and r, having velocities , and i, is given by H = mv +m,+ -(fxi), wrong where C is constant. Which one of the following statements is correct? (a) The total energy and total momentum are conserved (b) Only the total energy is conserved (c) The total energy and the z - component of the total angular momentum are conserved (d) The total energy and total angular momentum are conserved -

dear u 9 it's a concept in physics that every symmetry in nature leads to a conservation law. here symmetry in time leads to conservation of energy.

according to me, option c is correct. because Hamiltonian is independent of time so energy is conserved . and also z-component of angular momentum is conserved.
