For your practice test, I could only guess that the option wanted to type whole india "excluding" J&K and made a typing mistake.

To simplify, after 2019 when Kashmir lost Article 370 and Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019 was passed in the parliament, making it Indian administered states, the contract act 1872 shall also extend to Jammu and Kashmir as well. Which, prior to 2019 was regulated by Article 370.

The Indian Contract Act extends to whole of India except Jammu and Kashmir. The law relating to contracts in India is contained in Indian Contract Act, 1872. It determines the circumstances in which promise made by the parties to a contract shall be legally binding on them. That should be the original answer as per books which are made before 2019. But as of now the act extends to all states of India including Jammu and Kashmir and also 12 nautical miles into the sea from national borders. Thank You.
