    This is because in survey research we don't have much control over external variables. For example you want to study the attitude of people towards the use of technology. So in the field you will give questionnaires to people and asking them to fill it. But due to differences in the social and educational background different people will consider use of technology differently and they will give different answers or similar in case of getting influenced by the group members Some can give false answers or some can just choose whatever they see first without reading any question. So in survey research you can't exercise that much of control that you can in experimental research That's why survey research often lacks internal validity
