    Hello. It'll take them 2 hours and 30 mins to be exactly 47.5 KMs apart. Here's how. Both the cyclists start at the same place of Origin. let that be "O". One cyclist goes north at 9Km/h the other goes south at 10Km/h They both are going in opposite direction. so their per hour displacement from each other will be added up (9+10). Means they are moving 19 Kms away from each other per hour. We got the relative speed/displacement (19KM/h) The distance required to be travelled is 47.5 Kms. So we can get the Time by Dividing Distance with Speed ( T = D/S) => T = 47.5 /19 = 2.5 hours That means it'll take the cyclists 2 hours and 30 mins to be 47.5 Kms from each other.
