Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

Hello. To help you understand this answer, I'm explain the concept of correlation coefficient to you. A correlation coefficient demonstrate te degree of correlation or the influence of one independent variable over the dependent variable. The correlation coefficient lies between -1 to +1. +1 being perfectly positive correlation -1 being perfectly negative (inverse) correlation 0 being no correlation at all. A position correlation is a correlation in which the independent and dependent variable move in the same direction. Meaning if the independent variable increases, the dependent variable increases too, and if the independent variable decrease, the dependent variable decreases too. For example, a car runs 10 Km per litre of fuel. it'll run 20 km for 2 litre fuel, and 30Km for 3 litre fuel and so on. This is an example of perfect positive correlation, or +1 Similarly, a car travels at a constant distance. The faster the speed, the less time it'll take to reach its final destination. Here speed of car is increasing and time is decreasing . This is an example of perfect inverse correlation (-1) Now, not all of the variables are perfectly correlated. And it doesn't reach +1 or -1 but moves closer to it. So for highly inverse correlation would be the value of -0.80. Hope that helps. Thank you 😊
